To all my faithful readers and fans of The Ravenstones,
I wish you the best of the season
and a most successful 2022.
2021 may be one of those years we’ll never forget, for good and bad. So, for a change of pace, here’s a poem for Christmas.
My contribution to this collection follows below. It may be my first published poem. Actually, come to think about it, it’s my only published poetry offering, for a rather limited (or should I say privileged) audience – composed of my fellow Winnipeg Queenston School Grade IV class students (and maybe their parents). This artifact is another one of the heirloom items preserved by my parents over the years (I believe it dates back to 1959, and I can only assume I was responsible for the impeccable colouring).
Here’s my offering. I rather liked the little typo in the 2nd verse; clearly editors were in short supply back then.
Have a wonderful holiday. I’m taking a break for a month. See you again in January.
